We are glad to offer you a set of RASCAN holographic subsurface radars. The radars are intended for nondestructive testing of structural components of buildings (brickwork, wall panels, cast in place concrete and reinforced concrete, etc.) for the purpose of searching for buried objects (wiring, reinforcement, voids, various kinds of discontinuities and alien bodies).

Radar software forms images of the internal structure of examination area on computer display. Recorded radar images resemble X-ray images. At the same time radars are able to execute one-sided sounding of an object as opposed to X-ray apparatus. Low emitting power (< 10 mW) guarantees full safety for personnel in time of using of RASCAN radars.

The RASCAN-5 radars can be applied in the following areas:

Counterintelligence activities for detecting of bugging devices (TSCM — technical surveillance counter-measures);
Operative inquiry activities of law-enforcement agencies;
Surveying of building structures for determining the position of defects, reinforcement, voids and other heterogeneities;
Sounding of especially critical building works (airport runways, bridges, crossings, etc.) for determining their latent flaws;
NDT&E of heat protection systems of space ships and rockets;
Inspection of the objects of culture heritage.

The RASCAN-5/7000 is the most universal device with high sensitivity. It is possible to use it for detection of bugging devices and fibre-glass wires that don’t have metal cover.

RASCAN-4/2000 has been used to investigate floor in the Senate building, St. Petersburg. You can download a report about this work.

The Laboratory’s staff members had been rewarded with Russian Federation government’s prize in the field of science and technology for creation of the RASCAN radar technology.

RASCAN-4/4000/7000 radars are out of production now.
